About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Consultant to join our team at Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Stroke team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all stroke patients receive the highest possible level of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the daily TIA service, ensuring robust protocols for patient transfer and referral pathways with local GPs.
  • Work with nursing and therapy colleagues to ensure the stroke unit has sufficient capacity to accommodate all suitable stroke patients on admission.
  • Collaborate with the local Hyper Acute Stroke Centre to ensure effective transfer of patients following hyperacute treatments and/or stabilisation.
Requirements
  • CCST in Stroke Medicine or equivalent experience.
  • Higher Degree (MSc, MD or PhD) in a relevant field.
  • Experience in emergency or critical care medicine.
  • Familiarity with current healthcare initiatives and changes.
  • Understanding of clinical coding and regulatory frameworks.
