About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Consultant to join our team at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Stroke team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all stroke patients admitted to our hospital receive the highest possible level of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the daily TIA service, ensuring robust protocols for patient transfer and stabilisation.
  • Work closely with nursing and therapy colleagues to ensure sufficient capacity on the stroke unit for all suitable patients.
  • Collaborate with the local Hyper Acute Stroke Centre to ensure seamless patient transfer and treatment.
Requirements
  • CCST in Stroke Medicine and Higher Degree (MSc, MD or PhD).
  • Experience in emergency or critical care medicine, with ability to practice independently in Acute Medicine and Stroke.
  • Familiarity with current health service structure and recent initiatives.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks, such as EWTD.
