We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pain Medicine Specialist to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant in Pain Management, you will be responsible for providing expert medical care to patients with chronic pain, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality medical care to patients with chronic pain, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of pain conditions.
- Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, including nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of patients to ensure their pain is being effectively managed and to identify any areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement new treatments and therapies for chronic pain, staying up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care to patients.
- General medical qualification (e.g. MBBS, or equivalent) and a Licence to Practise.
- Membership of the Royal College of Anaesthetics or recognised equivalent in any other country.
- Excellent knowledge of pain management and treatment options.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and patients.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities and demands.
