Job Summary

Havering Talking Therapies is a leading primary care IAPT service that offers exceptional standards of care and clinical effectiveness to patients. We are seeking a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team as part of our Wellbeing at Winter Programme.

Main Responsibilities
  • Accept referrals via agreed protocols and develop programmes of care packages.
  • Assess and support individuals with common mental health problems in self-management of their recovery.
  • Undertake patient-centred interviews to identify areas for change and recovery, and make accurate assessments of risk to self and others.
  • Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients to relevant services or back to referral agents as necessary.
  • Provide information and support for evidence-based high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments, including guided self-help computerised CBT and pharmacological treatments.
  • Engage family members and others in treatment as necessary.
  • Maintain standards of practice according to employer and regulatory guidelines, and keep up-to-date with new recommendations and guidelines.
About Us

NELFT places great importance on welcoming and inducting new starters into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction, including mandatory training, systems training, and equipment allocation.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period unless they are currently part-way through a probationary period or are a bank member of staff.

Higher Cost Area Supplement

This post attracts a Higher Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary, with a minimum of £4,108 to a maximum of £5,177.
