Job Overview: Prospero Teaching is seeking a highly skilled Special Education Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator to work within one of our client schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day SEND provision, ensuring students with special educational needs or disabilities have full entitlement to the curriculum.

About the Role: We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SENDCo who holds Qualified Teacher Status and preferably the National Award for SEN Coordination (NA SENCO). The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching children with a range of SEND across the whole primary age range.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure students with special educational needs or disabilities have full entitlement to the curriculum.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues on inclusive teaching practices.
  • Use data to track progress and identify needs.
  • Support staff in delivering a Trauma Informed School approach to behaviour support.

Requirements: To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must be willing to register with us and complete all required vetting checks. You must hold a Right to Work in the UK, an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, and provide two professional child-related references.
