Nuclear Protection Specialist Wanted:

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Protection Specialist to join our team at Rullion. As a key member of our radiation protection unit, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of personnel and the environment through radiological protection monitoring and expert advice.

About the Position:

This is a permanent position with a salary range of £43,000 - £48,000 per annum depending on experience. You will be based in Cumbria or working on a UK-wide basis, providing expert advice to facility operators and carrying out radiological protection monitoring.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct radiological protection monitoring to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Measure radiation doses and contamination levels to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide protection advice to facility operators and produce survey sheets, reports, and data presentations.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Identify and report any areas of concern to relevant parties.
  • Respond to health physics-related emergencies and provide critical support during incidents.

Requirements:

  • Able to gain SC clearance.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Health Physics Monitor.
  • City and Guilds Level 1 Radiation Protection or NVQ Level 2 in Radiation Protection.
