About the Position

This exciting opportunity is based at the University of Manchester's campus in Manchester, UK. As a Research Technician, you will join the esteemed Fungal Infection Group, working closely with researchers to support a wide range of activities and projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Independently performing grant-funded experiments.
  • Contributing to experimental design and data analysis.
  • Presentation and reporting of research findings.
  • Training, advisory, and supervisory roles.
  • Lab management duties, including equipment management and maintenance.

As a member of the research team, you will be expected to work effectively in a collaborative environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of laboratory management principles and health and safety legislation.

Requirements

We are seeking an individual with a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, or Microbiology) and significant experience in molecular biology, immunology, protein purification, and/or microbiology techniques. A good understanding of laboratory management and a proven track record in independent experimentation are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly are also essential.

Salary and Benefits

The University of Manchester offers a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include:
