The salary for this senior role is up to £56,327 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • If qualified as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), undertake Mental Health Act assessments and perform other statutory functions to ensure adherence to legislative frameworks, participating in the AMHP borough-wide rota.
  • In partnership with service users and their carers, conduct thorough needs assessments and develop effective care plans that enhance quality of life and independence.
  • Maintain effective communication and consultation networks with internal and external professionals and organisations involved in assessment and service provision, ensuring a coordinated response to service users and carers.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to less experienced staff, including students and colleagues, while managing complex caseloads. Develop, monitor, and review care plans agreed upon with service users, carers, and service providers, adhering to CPA policy and procedures and the Care Act to identify measurable outcomes.
  • Contribute to budget control by prioritising objectives with service users and carers, ensuring quality and best value at all times.
  • Evaluate and address welfare benefit entitlements for individuals in the community or hospital, aligning with legislation and available resources.
  • Support civil emergencies, collaborating with local Social Care teams, assessing, and managing risks when necessary.
  • Undertake safeguarding investigations, upholding the Council's safeguarding policy and procedures while working with vulnerable adults and children, and conducting required investigations.
  • Promote and uphold the aims of the Council's Equality & Diversity policies in daily work.

Requirements for this role include a professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
