Job Title: Apprenticeship - Underwriter

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underwriter to join our team as an Apprentice. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for developing key relationships with brokers, identifying and building new business pipelines, and maintaining SLAs by providing excellent service and adhering to company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop key relationships with brokers and identify new business opportunities.
  • Provide accurate and compliant underwriting of business in accordance with our underwriting guides, location perils, and exposure systems.
  • Manage insurer surveys and ensure they are completed within deadlines.
  • Follow up on risk improvement requirements and ensure they are implemented.
  • Oversee administrative duties, including processing and administering policy documentation.
  • Assist in the training of other team members and peers as required.
  • Contribute to the achievement of team and business unit targets by delivering on monthly KPIs.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs, Grades A-C, including English and Maths.
  • Previous experience in new business, sales, or development underwriting.
  • Good technical underwriting knowledge of property classes.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Computer literacy and ability to work on new systems.
