About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and empathetic Senior Patient Care Assistant to join our therapeutic services team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with patients who require additional support due to their illness, unfamiliar surroundings, medication, mental health, or challenging behavior needs.

As a Senior Patient Care Assistant, you will provide essential support to patients, working closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. Your primary responsibility will be to build therapeutic relationships with patients, engaging them in activities that promote physical and mental well-being.

Main Duties
  • To work as a member of our team under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, providing support to all areas of the trust
  • To build therapeutic and meaningful relationships with patients
  • To engage in therapeutic activities with patients to support their recovery of physical and mental health needs
Person Specification
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience within an acute care setting
  • Care certificate achieved or demonstrable relevant skills
  • Evidence of completed competencies as part of a professional portfolio
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £24,071 to £25,674 per annum, pro rata. Successful candidates will also receive a range of benefits, including access to training and development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a supportive working environment.
