We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Technical Director to lead our Ecology team in delivering a wide range of projects across the UK. As part of this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of ecologists to achieve profitable and sustainable growth, while ensuring client satisfaction and delivering high-quality services.
Main Responsibilities:- Business Development: Develop and maintain client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and work with the Sector Director and Head of Environmental Management & Sustainability to define market and client development strategies.
- Team Leadership: Line manage and develop individuals within the team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver projects effectively.
- Project Management: Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring that projects are delivered with high levels of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
- Education: Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Ecology, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional Membership: Full membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
- Licenses: Holder of Protected Species licenses and a current CSCS card or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years' experience working in a consultancy for private and public-sector developers and operators, on a range of development/infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of relevant UK wildlife legislation, including conservation of protected species.
- Communication: Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Commercial: Excellent commercial understanding of environmental consultancy procurement.
