Consultant Psychiatrist Opportunity

A prestigious mental health clinic in Leeds, West Yorkshire, is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join their multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the development of the service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, and strategic reviews.
  • Act as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
  • Offer a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to patient assessment, formulation, and treatment.
  • Contribute to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital.
  • Develop and implement service strategy, contributing to in-house training programs and offering supervision to junior medical staff.
  • Maintain CPD and re-validation requirements, as determined by the Royal College of Psychiatrists or other relevant statutory bodies.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Be innovative and imaginative, with the ability to initiate corporate decisions.
  • Have a thorough understanding of current developments in psychiatry and other aspects of mental health.
  • Have substantial knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, and contemporary issues in mental health.
  • Have previous Consultant experience in a management role.
