Position Overview

We are pleased to announce a unique opportunity to join the Child Health Team, focusing on the assessment and intervention of Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) within the community. This role is integral to our Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnostic team, providing essential support to children and their families.

Our approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, ensuring that we meet the diverse needs of our service users effectively. We are dedicated to delivering a comprehensive ASD diagnostic service for children under the age of 8.

This position will primarily be located at our designated center, with community outreach responsibilities. You will play a crucial role in delivering expert speech and language therapy as part of the autism diagnostic process, collaborating closely with pediatricians, psychologists, and specialist nurses. Additionally, you will engage with early years children, particularly those on the autism spectrum, during community outreach.

Occasional clinic sessions may be required at other locations.

You may also conduct specific assessments, such as ADOS appointments, as part of your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a candidate who possesses:

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience working with children, particularly in the field of autism.
  • Valid registration with the Health Professions Council and a recognized degree in speech and language therapy.
  • A proactive, innovative, and highly motivated approach to therapy.
  • A passion for working with children and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
  • Strong teamwork skills to integrate seamlessly into our existing team.
  • Flexibility to travel within the local area as needed.
