Purpose of the role

The Technical Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality training to SPTS customer service engineers on the installation and repair of SPTS transport systems. This will involve analyzing the knowledge requirements of the CSEs and designing structured training courses to meet these needs. In addition to training SPTS engineers, the instructor will also be required to deliver training to SPTS customers, both at the SPTS training facility and at customer sites, which may involve international travel. The instructor will work closely with the SPTS engineering teams to develop training for new products and will partner with the multimedia team to develop online training courses and AR/VR applications. The role will also involve cross-training and delivering training for other products.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching employees and customers service classes up to L4 on SPTS Transport Modules
  • Understanding and integrating various instructional delivery techniques to engage students, with required cultural sensitivity to deal and work with global students
  • Identifying gaps and areas of improvement in existing techniques and developing new BKMs as needed
  • Auditing and mentoring junior and guest instructors to improve overall instructional delivery skills and curriculum standards
  • Maintaining existing curriculum by implementing Tech talks
  • Understanding and applying various LKS guidelines and BKMs used to develop courseware inclusive of Task lists, Exams, Lab Practical's, Homework's, Instructor Guide and Student Guide
  • Recognizing product CoS issues and working with Technical Support to find opportunities for driving additional curriculum improvements beyond case studies
  • Being the project leader for developing NPI curriculum, defining requirements, establishing delivery timelines, and providing monthly updates to partners
  • Reviewing and redlining existing docs for content accuracy and editing existing docs that have been redlined
  • Formatting and writing new documents
  • Performing regular training tool PMs as per existing BKMs
  • Identifying any tool health issues, proposing PoAs, and working closely with Technical Support to recover tool using daily pass downs and SAMs as needed
  • Working with the Technical Support team for standardization of solutions and ensuring knowledge is captured appropriately
  • Providing first-level support to field as Technical Support equivalent
  • Working with the Technical Support team to support field L2 issues by attending daily SAMs and providing on-site support for L3 issues
