**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to join our team as an AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Award Researcher. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a collaborative project co-led by Professor Alexander Marr and Dr Jane Eade, with a focus on technical art-historical research on paintings attributed to Lockey in the collection of the National Trust.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Conduct technical art-historical research on paintings attributed to Lockey in the collection of the National Trust
  • Assist in the research of documentary evidence in the Hardwick archives of Lockey's work for patrons such as Elizabeth, Countess of Shrewsbury, and her son, William Cavendish
  • Contribute to the development of outreach and community engagement activity by the Trust
  • Collaborate with Trust curators and other stakeholders to achieve project goals

**Requirements**

  • PhD in a relevant field (e.g. art history, conservation, museum studies)
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
