Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our team at an all-through school provision for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children or vulnerable adults with complex needs, possessing a calm, inviting, and friendly nature to build strong bonds with our students.
The school offers personalized learning programmes tailored to meet individual needs, fostering academic and social growth. They believe in providing a supportive environment that leads to a brighter future for all pupils.
The successful candidate will have:
- A valid DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students.
- A good understanding of EHCPs.
- The ability to assist in lessons and activities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- The ability to support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
