About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in Winchester. As a compassionate and empathetic individual, you will provide tailored support to students with diverse mental health needs, fostering a nurturing environment that promotes emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with students to develop personalized support plans, addressing their unique mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional growth.
  • Provide immediate support during challenging situations, helping students navigate difficult emotions and develop coping strategies.
  • Maintain open communication with parents, sharing updates on students' progress and collaborating on strategies for continued support at home.
  • Support teachers and fellow teaching assistants in classrooms, promoting a cohesive and supportive team environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children in a mental health or educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Compassion and empathy for the well-being of children, with a commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment.
  • Experience working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
