Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our CAMHS team. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions for children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. You will develop and implement psychological therapeutic plans of care with children, young people, and their families based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of their difficulties.
Main Responsibilities
As a Clinical Psychologist, you will provide specialist psychologically informed advice, guidance, supervision, and consultation to other professionals. You will contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to benefit all clients of the service. You will also have opportunities to take a lead on a clinical pathway or area of service delivery in line with your experience and interests.
Requirements
We are looking for a postgraduate doctoral training in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS and HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist. You will also have experience of working with CYP with full range of clinical severity across a wide range of care settings. You will have skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, including psychometric testing, intervention, and management.

Education/Qualifications
Essential
- Postgraduate doctoral training in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS
- HCPC registered as a practitioner psychologist
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
Essential
- Experience of working with CYP with full range of clinical severity across a wide range of care settings
- Experience of teaching, training, and/or professional and clinical supervision
Essential
- Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology
- Knowledge of legislation in relation to children and young people and mental health
- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS
- Formal training in supervision of other psychologists

- Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, including psychometric testing, intervention, and management
- Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups
- Ability to identify, and employ, as appropriate, clinical governance mechanisms for the support and maintenance of clinical practice in the face of regular exposure to highly emotive material and challenging behaviour
