What will I be doing?

As a DC Operations Support Engineer, you will be working shifts along with a team of skilled engineers to provide support within our Datacentres. The role is datacentre based with hands on work, dealing with hardware in a datacentre environment.

Day to day operations include:

• Monitoring and prompt handling requests via various ticketing systems in line with SLAs

• Providing hands and eyes support to customers and internal teams

• Providing operational support for services in remote datacentres

• Performing hardware rack and stack of servers

• Performing troubleshooting, failed component replacement and power cycling hardware

• Assisting in moving hardware equipment

• Provisioning of new servers

• Occasional travel to datacentres based in London for server installation, troubleshooting and/or decommission

Requirements

• Good understanding of server hardware and troubleshooting

• Basic understanding of Networking and internet concepts (e.g., DNS, OSI model etc.)

• Basic knowledge of common Operating Systems such as Windows & Linux

• Basic knowledge of common web hosting control panels (e.g., cPanel)

• Good Customer service attitude

• Punctual and organised

• A team player - ability to work well with people

• Good attention to detail

• Good and clear written and verbal communication skills
