About The Role

The Datacentre Facilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, secure, and operational condition of our datacentres. This includes supporting the Facilities Manager in all facets of facilities management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist with the build and delivery of Base Station Hotels / Datacentres.
  2. Manage preventative maintenance programs for Base Station Hotel / Datacentre-related equipment.
  3. Ensure team compliance with the Company's Safety Program.
  4. Responsible for managing Datacentre Operations, including IP-related and wireless infrastructure.
  5. Ensure goals, SLA's and objectives are met and services are maintained efficiently and effectively.
  6. Develop systems and maintain records for the proper evaluation, control, and documentation of assigned activities.
  7. Responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data centre.
  8. Manage inventory and regulatory compliance for all assigned assets.
  9. Ensure proper visibility, escalation, and tracking of all service interruptions or hazards.
  10. Manage Datacentre and facilities-related 3rd party and in-house preventative maintenance programs.
  11. Manage the Maintenance Provider to ensure timely resolution of trouble tickets.
  12. Act as an operational acceptance point of contact for customer dispatches and site visits.
  13. Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with customers, landowners, and vendors.
  14. Manage the Repair and Maintenance forecast and participate in operational reporting and analysis activities.
  15. Prepare, review, and provide weekly updates for all activities assigned to the Service & Operations Team.
  16. Ensure proper preparation for and lead resolution of all Base Station Hotel disasters, incidents, and major service interruptions.
  17. Monitor need and availability of sub-contractors in conjunction with current and future projects.
  18. Resource planning for facilities and datacentres.
  19. Safety and quality management.
  20. Preserve assets and information by implementing and complying with disaster recovery, backup procedures, information security, and control structures.
  21. Ensure the confidentiality and overall security of all IT resources, the network, and sensitive company, customer, vendor, contractor, and employee information.
  22. Base Station Hotel (BSH) / Datacentre space inventory management.
Requirements
  1. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  2. Detail-oriented with experience with datacentre systems, protocols, and best practices.
  3. Strong conceptual and technical abilities.
  4. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  5. Certification in CDCDP or equivalent.
  6. Some familiarity with IP networking preferred.
