Job Summary

Cardinal Medical Practice is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Prescribing Clerk to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our administration team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our repeat prescribing system.

Main Responsibilities

Repeat Prescribing System

Manage the repeat prescribing system to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient service delivery.

Deal with patient requests for repeat issues of medication, ensuring prescribing is carried out in a cost-effective and safe manner.

Remove discontinued medication from the prescribing screen under GP supervision.

Check patient records to ensure necessary health checks and blood tests have been conducted.

Maximize practice efficiency by checking patient alerts and dealing with them as part of the repeat prescribing service.

Review patient records to ensure regular medication reviews are conducted as appropriate.

Assist the GP Prescribing lead in meeting prescribing targets by switching patients to more cost-effective medication.

Liaise with pharmacies regarding patient queries.

Manage prescription stock and supplies to ensure clinical staff have access to necessary resources.
