About the Role
Cardinal Medical Practice is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Prescribing Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our administration team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our repeat prescribing system.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the repeat prescribing system to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient service delivery.
- Scan and summarise relevant information from external correspondence into our Practice computer system, adhering to our summarising protocol.
- Support and deputise for other members of the administration team as required.
- Deal with requests for patients' repeat issues of medication, ensuring prescribing is carried out in a cost-effective and safe manner.
- Remove discontinued medication from the prescribing screen under GP supervision.
- Check patients' records to ensure they have had necessary health checks and blood tests.
- Maximise practice efficiency by checking patient alerts and dealing with them as part of the repeat prescribing service.
- Review patients' records to ensure they receive regular medication reviews as appropriate.
- Assist the GP Prescribing lead to meet prescribing targets by switching patients to more cost-effective medication.
- Liaise with pharmacies in respect of patient queries.
- Manage the stock of prescriptions and prescription pads to ensure clinical staff have access to supplies.

Our team consists of 4 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 3 GP Registrars, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Physicians Associates, Practice Nurses, Nurse Associates, Healthcare Assistants, Care Co-ordinators, and additional healthcare professionals.
