Electrical Design Technical Lead

Thomas Thor Associates is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Technical Lead to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in the design and safety justification of the SMR300 small modular reactor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership for the engineering assessment, design, and safety justification of the SMR300
  • Deliver technical scope of high integrity/complex electrical systems within the Electrical discipline
  • Take ownership of the electrical engineering chapter of the Safety Case for submission to the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR)
Requirements:
  • Experience in nuclear power station electrical system design, specifically on-site distribution (AC and DC), off-site interfaces (substation)
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the US SMR electrical team
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
