Electrical Design Technical Lead

Join Thomas Thor in shaping the future of nuclear power technology as an Electrical Design Technical Lead. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical leadership for the engineering assessment, design, and safety justification of the SMR-300 for deployment in the UK and worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver technical scope of high integrity/complex electrical systems within the Electrical discipline.
  • Take ownership of the electrical engineering chapter of the Safety Case for submission to the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) for use in the Generic Design Assessment (GDA).
  • Build strong relationships with the US SMR electrical team.
  • Lead on Electrical Systems Engineering of AC/DC power systems for operational and emergency needs.
  • Develop and implement SMR-300 electrical design strategy for Grid Compliance and 50/60Hz design conversion.
  • Demonstrate SMR-300 Electrical architecture suitability for safety functional claims.
  • Oversight of key evidence supporting safety claims.
  • Support the development of the Electrical chapter of the Safety Case for submission in the SMR-300 GDA.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external organizations, including the nuclear regulators.
Requirements:
  • Excellent credentials in principles of electrical engineering.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills – able to present at multiple organisational levels and to external regulatory stakeholders.
