Essex, United Kingdom Alzheimer's Society Full time

About Alzheimer's Society

We're a leading UK charity dedicated to supporting people affected by dementia. Our mission is to make the biggest difference for people living with dementia, their families, and carers.

As a Singing for the Brain Support Volunteer, you'll be part of this mission, playing a vital role in delivering our structured group sessions designed around music therapy principles. These uplifting sessions offer people with dementia a chance to socialise, enjoy music, and find their voice.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming and engaging with participants, helping them feel at ease and supported throughout the session.
  • Providing encouragement to participate in the activities, either online or in person.
  • Supporting the session facilitator with the delivery of the program.

This role requires someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with dementia, enthusiastic about music, and able to build meaningful relationships. No prior experience of dementia or singing is necessary, as full training will be provided.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in developing strong connections with others, be flexible, and comfortable working in a virtual environment. If you're looking for a rewarding opportunity to enable people with dementia to find their voice through music, we'd love to hear from you

In return, you can expect a competitive salary of £12.00 per hour, along with opportunities for personal and professional growth within our organisation.
