Sea Import Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sea Import Clerk to join our team at Red Recruit, a leading recruitment agency specializing in freight and shipping. As a Sea Import Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing the import process from start to finish, ensuring seamless cargo movements and compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage import jobs accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely completion and compliance with regulations.
  • Compile and enter import documentation and clearance into the Customs Declaration System (CDS).
  • Monitor cargo movements from origin to destination, ensuring smooth delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Provide quotes for new business and secure the best costs for services, driving revenue growth and client loyalty.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations governing cargo movements and associated documentation.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working within the Seafreight industry at a similar level.
  • In-depth understanding of import regulations and customs procedures for ocean and road shipments.
  • Proven experience in handling import documentation and coordinating with customs agents.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and systems for import processing.
