School Science Technician Job Description: Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a skilled School Science Technician to join our team at a school in Sheffield. As a School Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the science department by preparing and setting up equipment and materials for lessons, maintaining laboratory equipment, and assisting with the storage and organization of chemicals and specimens.

About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to join our school community. As a School Science Technician, you will work closely with teachers and staff to ensure that science lessons are delivered effectively and safely. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science lessons.
  • Support teachers during practical demonstrations and experiments.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring everything is clean, safe, and in excellent working order.
  • Assist with the storage and organization of chemicals, specimens, and other materials, adhering to health and safety regulations.

What We're Looking For:
  • A background in science (qualification or experience in a laboratory environment preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • An understanding of health and safety practices in a laboratory setting (training can be provided).

Estimated Salary: £26,000 - £31,000 per annum.
