Qualitative Research Position

Manchester Metropolitan University invites applications for a qualitative research assistant/associate to provide support to colleagues and staff in the partnership between Manchester Metropolitan University and Nuffield Health.

The successful candidate will work within the Department of Health Professions, Faculty of Health and Education at Manchester Metropolitan University under the supervision of Professor Gillian Yeowell.

This is a full-time, time-limited post working in a hybrid model from Manchester Metropolitan University and home. Travel to Nuffield Health sites across the UK may be required.

About the Role:
  • Conduct qualitative and mixed-methods research using various designs and methods
  • Draft research proposals and ethics applications
  • Data collection and analysis, including qualitative data
  • Contribute to research reports and publications
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders

You will be an enthusiastic and proactive colleague with experience in undertaking qualitative research and literature reviews. Key responsibilities include:

  • Qualitative data analysis (thematic analysis/framework analysis and mixed-methods analysis)
  • Presenting and communicating complex information to diverse audiences
  • Actively engaging in writing and publishing research papers in peer-reviewed journals
  • Writing research proposals and submitting ethics applications
  • Data collection via one-on-one interviews, focus groups, and surveys

Salary: The salary range for this role is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. This position requires excellent analytical and communication skills.
