Job Summary

Willmott Dixon is seeking a dynamic Preconstruction Manager to join our East Midlands team and play a pivotal role in delivering and winning profitable work while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bid Strategy: Lead the procurement team in setting winning bid strategies, ensuring profitability, timeliness, and alignment with company objectives.
  • Leadership: Foster a high-performing team environment, providing guidance, coaching, and resources to ensure success in project delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek feedback, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance bid quality and competitiveness.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate with senior management to allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal support.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal requirements, contractual obligations, and industry standards, promoting a culture of innovation and quality excellence.

Essential Skills

  • Expert knowledge of bid processes and construction industry practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Maintain and enhance external customer relationships.
  • The ability to prepare basic planning programs and understand the planning process.
  • Read and accurately interpret tender information, including drawings and technical specifications.
  • Ability to control resources, timing, and quality in line with targets.

Desirable Skills

  • MCIOB/RICS membership or similar certification.
