About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Preconstruction Manager to join our East Midlands team and play a pivotal role in delivering and winning profitable work while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead an East Midlands team and be responsible for frameworks and two-stage bids for projects ranging in value from £10m to £100m across a range of sectors, including Education, Leisure, Commercial, Blue Light, Residential, and Health.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

Bid Strategy and Leadership
  • Develop and implement winning bid strategies, ensuring profitability, timeliness, and alignment with company objectives.
  • Foster a high-performing team environment, providing guidance, coaching, and resources to ensure success in project delivery.
Market Analysis and Resource Allocation
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate with senior management to allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal support.
Compliance and Quality Excellence
  • Ensure adherence to legal requirements, contractual obligations, and industry standards, promoting a culture of innovation and quality excellence.
Essential Skills
  • Expert knowledge of bid processes and construction industry practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Maintain and enhance external customer relationships.
  • The ability to prepare basic planning programmes and understand the planning process.
  • Read and accurately interpret tender information, including drawings and technical specifications.
  • Ability to control resources, timing, and quality in line with targets.
Desirable Skills
  • MCIOB/RICS membership or similar certification.
