Willmott Dixon is seeking a dynamic Preconstruction Manager to join our East Midlands team and play a pivotal role in delivering and winning profitable work while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
You will lead an East Midlands team and be responsible for frameworks and two-stage bids for projects ranging in value from £10m to £100m across a range of sectors, including Education, Leisure, Commercial, Blue Light, Residential, and Health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bid Strategy: Lead the procurement team in setting winning bid strategies, ensuring profitability, timeliness, and alignment with company objectives.
- Leadership: Foster a high-performing team environment, providing guidance, coaching, and resources to ensure success in project delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek feedback, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance bid quality and competitiveness.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
- Resource Allocation: Coordinate with senior management to allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal support.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal requirements, contractual obligations, and industry standards, promoting a culture of innovation and quality excellence.
Essential Skills:
- Expert knowledge of bid processes and construction industry practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Maintain and enhance external customer relationships.
- The ability to prepare basic planning programs and understand the planning process.
- Read and accurately interpret tender information, including drawings and technical specifications.

Desirable Skills:
- MCIOB/RICS membership or similar certification.
