Cavendish Nuclear is seeking a Principal Physicist to join our team at the Sellafield Site in Cumbria. As a key member of our Radiometric Characterisation team, you will provide technical leadership and expertise to solve complex problems and deliver innovative solutions for our customers.
The Role
As a Principal Physicist, you will be responsible for providing specialist characterisation advice and consultancy services during the design, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. You will lead and supervise the work of technical specialists, develop and maintain excellent working relations with customers and stakeholders, and ensure the application of the highest standards for health, safety, and environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct, lead, and supervise the work of technical specialists to develop and deliver characterisation strategies to time, quality, and budget.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relations with customers, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain and promote knowledge of industry best practice.
- Ensure the application of the highest standards for health, safety, and environment, ethics, and behaviours.
Essential Experience
- Experience in the application of radiometric techniques.
- Technical-based leadership experience.
- Experience in mentoring and training.
- Nuclear experience.
Qualifications
- Science degree (or equivalent qualification) with significant demonstrable experience.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Clearance (SC) security clearance for this role.
