Mechanical Craft Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Craft Specialist to join our team at the National Nuclear Laboratory. As a Mechanical Craft Specialist, you will be responsible for carrying out safe, quality, and efficient maintenance, breakdown, and project activities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform routine EIM&T, breakdown, and recovery maintenance on maintainable assets as instructed by the Team Leader.
- Undertake any mechanical associated project work as demand necessitates.
- Carry out safe, effective, and controlled isolations of Mechanical Plant within their designated area.
- Complete MOVEX job cards in accordance with site standards to ensure good quality maintenance history is recorded.
- Support the designated facility in the installation, modification, and commissioning of rigs and installed equipment.
- Ensure that maintenance, breakdown, and project tasks are always covered by an appropriate Safe System of Work (SSOW) and complied with.
- Check and fully understand the Mechanical Instructions/Proof Tests that they are working to.
- Ensure that appropriate workplace standards are always maintained, and the correct tools and equipment are selected for the task and used only as intended.
- Participate in team briefs and LFE reviews, taking personal action to resolve any issues or shortfalls in their area.
- Comply with company/site standards and expectations of behavior and performance.
- Attend all training identified by the Mechanical Team Leader or Training Department to ensure successful continuation of their SQEP appointments.
Requirements:
- Holds a time-served recognized Mechanical Craft Apprenticeship.
- Proven ability to interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
- Ability to obtain DV level security clearance.
