**Job Title:** Clinical Nurse Specialist - Children's Hospice
**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Haven House Children's Hospice. As a key member of our Integrated Care Team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to children and young people with palliative care needs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide holistic and person-centred care to children and young people with palliative care needs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans and assessments to ensure safe and effective care.
- Liaise with the lead for mental capacity assessments and ensure that these are completed as required.
- Ensure that care is planned and delivered in accordance with the Care Quality Commission Inspectorate standards of quality and safety.
- Be fully conversant with and contribute to all clinical guidelines, policies and procedures of Haven House.
**Requirements:**
- RN Child/Adult/LD qualification.
- Experience of working independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to teach clinical skills to parents/care staff.
- Ability to work alone in a variety of settings.
- Self-motivated.
- Literate and Numerate in English.
- IT/Computer literate: able to word process and use basic spreadsheets.
- Flexible and adaptable at work in order to meet competing priorities.
- Understanding of a range of paediatric conditions including life-limiting, life-threatening, and end-of-life care needs.
- Understanding of infection control procedures.
- Understanding of personal health and safety responsibilities.
- Good understanding of the meaning of clinical supervision/mentoring.
- An understanding of equality within the workforce and how it can impact on this post.
- Able to work unsocial hours as required.
