Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ERS Technical Operations Specialist to join our team at HRC UK. As a key member of our Energy Recovery System development and testing team, you will be responsible for trackside operations within the F1 team.

Your primary objective will be to operate ERS trackside, manage any issues that may arise during events, and report back to our factory base. This role involves working closely with our ERS technicians and chassis team to ensure seamless high-voltage system operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain each ERS System and associated control data at F1 Trackside.
  • Support mission control room activities and provide instruction to ERS technicians.
  • Collaborate with the Chassis team on High Voltage System Operation.
  • Develop and implement updated control specifications (algorithms), create, and set up control data for ERS Systems.
  • Summarize running results and report faults encountered during events.
  • Prepare daily trackside feedback reports and provide insights to enhance future event performance.
  • Support dyno testing activities in Japan, the UK, and other customer sites.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Significant ERS exposure and experience.
  • Advanced ERS/Battery analysis, monitoring, and development expertise.
  • ERS testing methodologies knowledge.
  • Familiarity with F1 Power Units.
  • Ability to analyze data from Power-Unit reliability and performance aspects.
  • Fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Track-side experience.
  • Excellent document presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with analysis tools such as ATLAS and System Monitor.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across cultures internally and externally.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
