Job Summary

The Care Professional will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to clients in their homes, with a focus on building strong relationships and promoting independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-call support from Friday 4:30pm to Monday 9:30am, including alternate weekends and holidays.
  • Contribute to a positive living environment, enhancing the quality of life for clients.
  • Demonstrate a good example as a role model, adhering to Home Instead's expectations for staff members.
  • Maintain regular communication with management, raising concerns when necessary.
  • Build trust and form relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Cover visits due to annual leave, sickness, or other emergencies.
  • Be available on allocated working days to cover visits, ensuring 100% compliance in service delivery.
  • Exhibit a good work ethic and dedication.
  • Maintain professional relationships.
  • Deliver companionship, personal care, and home help services as required.

Essential Criteria

  • Be confident and self-motivated, with the ability to build and maintain strong, positive relationships.
  • Be flexible to work various days.
  • possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hold NVQ and industry knowledge.
  • Be willing to undertake further education and training as required.
  • Hold a full driving license and means of transport, if required, within the territory to visit clients.
  • Be organized and flexible to meet the needs of the business.
  • Be passionate about delivering high-quality customer service in the home care sector.
  • Have excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan, replan, and juggle priorities and unplanned work, while meeting deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Able to see the big picture while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure, without taking things personally.
  • Be proactive, suggesting and implementing operational improvements.
  • Able to learn from mistakes.
  • Able to work unsupervised, using own initiative, while recognizing when to raise risks and issues and ask for help from others.
  • Able to work as a trusted team member.
  • Be empathetic yet business-like in approach to clients and colleagues.
  • Have good verbal communication skills, including excellent telephone manner, confident to initiate and participate in difficult conversations.
  • Have good written communication skills and be IT literate.
