CV Library is a reputable Building Services contractor with multiple offices across the UK. Our team delivers high-quality Mechanical & Electrical Building Design projects, working closely with clients to understand their needs.

Your New Role

In this role, you'll be responsible for leading projects and mentoring junior team members in our Mechanical Design team. Key tasks will include:

  1. Developing a thorough understanding of project requirements and expectations
  2. Designing and specifying Mechanical Building Services systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and controls
  3. Producing detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools, such as Excel, IES, HevaComp, and in-house developed tools
  4. Collaborating with our BIM team to create models and drawings, using Revit
  5. Representing the company at client and contractor meetings
  6. Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring site works
  7. Preparing reports and technical notes
  8. Ensuring adherence to quality, environmental, and governance processes
  9. Managing project delivery and understanding budget costings
  10. Reviewing project progress and reporting any anomalies or changes of scope to the project lead

What You'll Need to Succeed

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Degree-qualified or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related subjects
  • Excellent computer literacy in a range of digital tools, including IES Thermal Modelling, HevaComp, NBS, and Microsoft packages
  • Familiarity with building physics principles, such as passive design solutions and fabric first approaches
  • Experience in designing for measurement and verification, including commissioning and post-installation evaluation of performance
  • Background in a design consultancy or contractor design environment
  • Ability to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, and work independently
  • Strong report writing skills and experience presenting to clients and attending meetings
  • Comfortable working within time and cost budgets as agreed at project briefing meetings

Estimated Salary: £64,000 - £84,000 per annum
