About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Support Worker to join our multidisciplinary team based in Helston, covering the West area of Cornwall. The successful candidate will work closely with GPs and acute hospital sites to provide high-quality care to patients with chronic lung disease and breathlessness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide flexible care delivery through telephone support, home visits, or group settings.
  • Work within own level of competence and access clinical support from colleagues when required.
  • Practice as a lone worker and manage a caseload of patients independently.
  • Implement agreed management/care plans for complex patients under specialist clinician supervision.
  • Undertake highly skilled support work for Respiratory patients in the community.
  • Use clinical skills, such as blood pressure and pulse checks, to support care delivery.
  • Offer patient education on self and risk factor management.
  • Lead exercise classes in various venues, including initial assessments within agreed protocols.

Person Specification

  • Experience of working as a Support Worker in a health or similar setting.
  • Relevant experience in an appropriate care setting.
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Examinations taken in English Language or IELTS qualification.
  • Theoretical and practical training to NVQ 3 level or equivalent in a relevant area.
  • Good general education to GCSE or equivalent.
  • Hold a valid UK driver's license.
