About the Job:

Easthorpe School is seeking an experienced and dedicated teacher to join our growing team as a Primary School SEN Class Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified educator to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Our school supports pupils with a range of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Attachment needs, and mild/moderate learning needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons within the national curriculum while meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils. This role requires strong behavior management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the class team to promote positive behaviors and learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons within the national curriculum while addressing the SEMH needs of pupils.
  • Support the class team in creating a positive learning environment that promotes academic achievement and social-emotional growth.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, collaborating with other staff members to ensure individual needs are met.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong basic education to degree level
  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs in an educational setting
  • Effective behavior management skills
  • Commitment to professional development and collaboration
