Job Overview

The role of a Teaching Assistant in a Special Educational Needs Disability (SEND) setting is to provide support to children with complex needs. This includes those with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulty (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulty (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulty (PMLD), or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH).

About the Role

This position requires you to work closely with teachers and other education professionals to ensure that students receive the best possible support. Your responsibilities will include assisting with lesson planning, preparing materials, and providing one-to-one support to students. You will also be expected to maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a genuine passion for working with children and young people. You should be able to demonstrate empathy and understanding when interacting with students who may be experiencing difficulties. You will also need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances, as well as being proactive and a team player.
