About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our Highway Maintenance team as a Drainage Driver-Operative. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out various drainage maintenance tasks across the Borough.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance of drainage assets, including pipes, culverts, and other infrastructure.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as flooding or pipe blockages, to assess and repair damage.
  • Participate in our Winter Service Programme to ensure the Borough's drainage systems are functioning effectively during harsh weather conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve our vision of a prosperous and revitalized Swindon.
Requirements
  • Essential driving licence.
  • Fluency in the English language.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and potentially participate in an out-of-hours standby rota.
