About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Academic Support Specialist to join our team at Overstone Park School. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic development of our students with additional needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individualized support to students who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning. This will involve working one-on-one or in small groups to deliver tuition, promoting student engagement and motivation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic support to students with additional needs, addressing areas of weakness and building on strengths
  • Develop and implement tailored learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistent and effective support
  • Visit students at home to deliver tuition and provide additional support as needed
  • Monitor student progress, adjusting support strategies as required

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Level 2 or 3 in childcare or Health and social care or above
  • Three years of experience working with children or within the care sector
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £23,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus a range of benefits including paid holiday and opportunities for professional development.
