Special Educational Needs Learning Assistant

ACADEMICS is seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Learning Assistant to join our supportive team in Basildon, Essex. As a key member of the school community, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the help and resources they need to excel.
We are looking for someone with relevant experience in supporting children with SEN, preferably within a school setting. You should be passionate about helping students with diverse learning needs and able to adapt your approach to meet individual requirements. Excellent communication skills, both with students and staff, are essential, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with children, particularly those with additional learning needs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of strategies to support students with a variety of SEN, such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. They will also be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting the emotional and social development of children. A willingness to engage in professional development and work closely with the teaching team to implement tailored learning programs is also essential.
In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and staff to implement tailored learning strategies (EHCPs), assist with individual and small group interventions, and create a nurturing environment for students to succeed academically and socially. We offer a competitive salary of £83.33 - £100 per day and long-term contract until July 2025, with the possibility of permanence from September 2025 for the right candidate.
