Job Description

**Job Title:** Leisure Assistant - Pool Operations

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Leisure Assistant to join our team at High Life Highland. As a key member of our pool operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Supervise Facilities:** Safely supervise the facilities and ensure the health and safety of all users.
  • **Provide Lifeguarding Services:** Provide effective, preventative lifeguarding services during all pool sessions.
  • **Emergency Response:** Carry out emergency action plans in the event of any accident or injury, and effect water rescues and first aid treatment in line with current training.
  • **Training and Development:** Maintain physical and lifesaving training at the required level, and participate in any training provided to assist with this requirement.
  • **Activity Supervision:** Assist with and supervise the efficient and safe operation of water and land-based activities.
  • **Activity Leadership:** Organize and lead activities and classes within the program as required.
  • **User Behavior:** Encourage safe and acceptable user behavior.
  • **Equipment Maintenance:** Ensure that items of fixed and portable equipment are maintained to the required standard of safety and cleanliness.
  • **Communication:** Liaise with other users and centre staff on the day-to-day operation of the centre.
  • **Procedures:** Update yourself regularly on all written procedures where relevant.
  • **Improvement Suggestions:** Bring to the attention of the centre manager or supervisor any improvements that might increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the centre.
  • **Cleaning Program:** Ensure the facility cleaning program is carried out to the required standard.
  • **Reception Duties:** Carry out reception/cashier duties, including admission and cash control.
  • **Inductions:** Deliver inductions in the Fitness Suite.
  • **Membership Sales:** Promote and sell High Life Memberships to potential new customers.
  • **Customer Care:** Provide the required high level of customer care.
