Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Liaison Psychiatry team in Chester. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and interventions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working across Urgent Care Mental Health First Response Services, including Crisis Resolution Home Treatment teams, Liaison Services, Street Triage Services, Liaison and Diversion Services, and the Crisis Triage and Response Service.

You will be expected to assess patients presenting to the acute hospital with complex psychiatric illnesses, providing evidence-based psychosocial interventions as required. This may involve working within the AED setting or medical wards across the hospital site.

In addition to providing mental health consultations, you will also work in partnership with police colleagues, NWAS, and Local Authorities to deliver comprehensive assessments in community settings.

The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mental health issues and be able to apply this knowledge to develop effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and interventions for patients presenting to the acute hospital
  • Work across Urgent Care Mental Health First Response Services, including Crisis Resolution Home Treatment teams, Liaison Services, Street Triage Services, Liaison and Diversion Services, and the Crisis Triage and Response Service
  • Assess patients with complex psychiatric illnesses and provide evidence-based psychosocial interventions as required
  • Work in partnership with police colleagues, NWAS, and Local Authorities to deliver comprehensive assessments in community settings

Requirements:

  • MHCW qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working in liaison psychiatry or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
