Learning Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking experienced Learning Assistants to support pupils in Primary Schools across the North East. Successful candidates will work closely with class teachers to promote positive learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Pupils: Work with pupils who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and challenging behaviour.
  • Manage Behaviour: Use positive and proactive approaches to manage difficult situations.
  • Develop Teacher Relationships: Develop strong relationships with class teachers to support pupil development.
  • Prepare Resources: Create resources for lessons to support pupil learning.
  • Pupil Supervision: Look after pupils during break times and lunch times.
  • Foster a Positive Learning Environment: Interact with pupils to build rapport and encourage learning.
  • Communicate with Parents: Discuss pupil progress with parents and external agencies.
Requirements:
  • Certified DBS: Hold an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Have a childcare-based qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Positive Relationships: Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Resilience: Demonstrate resilience, proactivity, and a positive nature.
Estimated Salary:

▢ 22000 - 28000 per annum (dependent on experience)
