About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Specialist Learning Support Assistant to work with secondary students in Newcastle. As a member of our team, you will be instrumental in supporting teachers and helping students excel in their studies.

The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications and experience working with students with SEMH needs. You will provide targeted support to students, both in groups and individually, and assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons and managing classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons and managing classroom activities
  • Help develop and implement individualised strategies to support students' well-being and learning
  • Promote a positive, nurturing environment that encourages student engagement and resilience
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure cohesive support for students
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and support staff

  • Relevant qualifications, such as a degree in education or psychology
