About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Lead to join our team at Tesco Property – Maintenance. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering first-class maintenance and engineering solutions across our estate.

As a Maintenance Operations Lead, you will be accountable for the delivery of maintenance in our distribution centres, managing a team of multi-skilled technicians and working collaboratively with all functions inside Property and our external contractors.

You will be responsible for:

  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence
  • Building effective relationships and communication across all functions and with key stakeholders
  • Attending DCM Meetings and working day to day with DC Management
  • Delivering change across business areas to consistently deliver performance and improve productivity
  • Locally managing contractor's performance on site to ensure first fix
  • Collaborating with the rest of the business to ensure solutions are truly co-developed and owned at a local level
  • Developing, leading, and coaching a high-performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best
  • Driving the diversity and inclusive agenda throughout your team
  • Escalation management
  • Ensuring that all legal and compliance standards are met as a minimum and exceeded where possible
  • Delivering great brand through the team, uniform, service, and work standards
  • Driving the team through the Maintenance Pathway to business required levels

You will need:

  • Communication and stakeholder management
  • Lead a diverse and remote team
  • Building internal and external networks
  • Analysis of data to achieve timely decisions
  • Change management
  • Problem-solving and root cause analysis

Previous Technical and Maintenance Engineering Experience is essential, as is experience in a similar scale remote facilities or maintenance business. A technical qualification in either HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, or Building is also required.

We offer a range of benefits, including an annual bonus scheme of up to 20% of base salary, holiday starting at 25 days plus a personal day, private medical insurance, and a retirement savings plan. We also offer 26 weeks maternity and adoption leave, followed by 13 weeks of Statutory Maternity Pay or Statutory Adoption Pay, and 4 weeks fully paid paternity leave.
