As a key member of our team at Johnsons Workwear, we are seeking a highly skilled Transport Manager to oversee the efficient management of our transport operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all commercial vehicles are maintained and serviced in accordance with FTA regulations and manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Implement and maintain the Route man's message pad procedure to meet customer service satisfaction levels.
  • Encourage Route man to participate in campaigns to achieve added value service sales.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of vehicles and ensure timely delivery and return of items to customers.
  • Ensure compliance with Operator's Licence requirements at all times.
  • Plan routes cost-effectively.
  • Establish and maintain good customer relations and act as liaison between customer and company.
  • Utilise the AS400 computer system effectively.
  • Recruit drivers in consultation with the General Manager.
  • Provide ongoing training for drivers and regularly review their training and development.
  • Forward queries to relevant departments and ensure managers, supervisors, and colleagues are informed as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records where required.
  • Wear and use Personal Protective Equipment and handling aids as supplied.
  • Comply with Company Policy on Health & Safety and COSHH requirements.
  • Comply with Company Policies and Terms and Conditions of Employment.
  • Keep work area clean, tidy, safe, and secure at all times.
  • Attend training courses as required.
  • Foster and maintain good working relations throughout the company.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company business.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
