Software Team Leader

Warton location requires full-time on-site presence.

£54,793 salary + depending on experience

Job Summary:

The role involves managing task delivery, people management, quality control and operational management as the Software Team Lead for the Typhoon Active Cockpit Rig (ACR). The team is based at Warton and reports to the Engineering Manager for the Simulation & Synthetic Engineering Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operationally manage project tasks to ensure the team and wider resources are prioritised in line with contract needs and against planned deliverables/milestones to maintain schedules
  • Manage personnel & sub-contract staff for the Warton & Filton based groups to ensure they operate as an integrated team of 12-20 engineers
  • Work closely with the ACR Facility Lead to provide an efficient design prototyping service with simulation facilities that support internal customers, the Typhoon Cockpit Group
  • Ensure software engineering activities, configuration control and documentation meet required quality and standard

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Software Project Management on complex projects
  • Agile methodology experience with Jira toolset
  • Leading teams and managing personnel experience
  • Familiarity with C/C++ Language desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in Simulation Software and working in Mission Systems/Defence domain desirable
